To celebrate the launch of our personal training app, we asked our coaches to share their favourite health apps.
Whilst staying fit and healthy is largely down to good old-fashioned hard work, technology definitely makes it smarter, easier and more fun. Let's dive in! 👇

I use the Flo app to track my menstrual cycle and gain a better understanding of my body and mood. It gives daily insights into how you may be feeling that particular day based on where you are at in your current cycle.
It’s a great tool to use as I exercise regularly, and Flo explains why I might be feeling full of energy or tired and unmotivated based on where I’m at in my cycle.

The database on different food nutritional values is enormous so you can always find the food or drink you want to track, or at least something very similar. It also includes smaller brands of supermarket produce and lesser-known food chain restaurants for eating out.
Myfitnesspal can also save repeat meals and foods to help speed up the process. It makes it easy to learn the macro and micronutrient content of foods so you can become less restricted in what you’re choosing when dieting (i.e. avocado on sourdough has way more calories than a McDonald's Egg McMuffin 👀)
Finally, it can collate the info and track, not just daily, but provide a weekly summary which is helpful to monitor progression.

Strava is an app I use for logging and benchmarking my stats for running and cycling.
The features I find the most useful are that it lets you track your routes with GPS, join Challenges, share photos from your activities, and I can also follow my friends. It provides a social element to my training as you can offer encouragement with kudos and comments.

Headspace is a meditation app with guided meditations, mindful workouts, and sleep techniques.
It helps me as it gets me into a parasympathetic state which is good for recovery and digestion. I just like it because it switches my mind off before bed, ensuring I get a good night's sleep.

Ok, I’ve cheated here - it’s not an app; it’s a site that works well on your phone.
StrengthLevel.com is a website that allows you to calculate your one rep max (1RM) based on your maximum lifts at a lower weight, estimated from the lifts of millions of people like you.
It’s very useful if you’d like to set a target for your next 1RM, just don’t get disheartened if the comparison to other lifters at your age or weight lists you as a ‘beginner’ – its categories are based on elite lifters who track all of their lifts.

Daylio is a mood tracker which allows you to select what activities you did that day and fully customise them.
There's also the ability to upload photos and write journal entries. Over time, it shows you trends and insights into the patterns of your moods. I love it, and I've been using it for over three years!
Of course, we couldn't miss our own app off the list!
